We are seeking a confident and enthusiastic Food Production Forklift Operator to join a leading dairy production facility in the Western Suburbs of Melbourne - Laverton.

Our client produces, markets, and distributes a wide range of high-quality dairy products for both domestic and international markets, with quality being their top priority. We are looking for individuals with the right skills, attitude, and a willingness to develop their experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

This role offers an immediate start with availability required on day AND afternoon shifts (rotating roster).

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate forklifts, including counterbalance, for loading, unloading, and transporting goods within the warehouse.
  • Oversee the manning of automated bottling lines and participate in packaging, labelling, and assembling food items.
  • Operate food processing machines, including debagging, packing, wrapping, and milk pasteurisation equipment.
  • Perform general warehouse duties, including manual handling, cleaning, and maintaining an organised work area.
  • Conduct routine checks and monitor processing equipment to ensure smooth operations.
  • Maintain sanitation standards to ensure safe production and packaging of various products.
  • Assist with logistics, including accurate filling of customer orders in cold rooms.
  • Receive, store, and distribute dairy products within the warehouse, ensuring proper storage based on temperature and expiry dates, using FIFO rotation methods to maintain freshness.
  • Conduct basic quality checks on dairy products, reporting issues such as damaged packaging, incorrect labelling, or potential spoilage.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve minor operational problems, identifying potential hazards and implementing corrective measures as required.
  • Support overall warehouse operations and contribute to team efficiency by performing additional duties as required.

To be considered for the role:

  • Valid forklift license
  • More than 6 months experience with Counterbalance
  • Experience in food production / food manufacturing
  • Must be available to work on a rotating roster Day and Afternoon shifts
  • Must have good communication skill
  • Comfortable working in chiller environment
